Data & Systems Intern (Paid Internship) - Software
Description
Position Overview:
TechSmith’s Data and Systems Intern will be working with our Operations and Data teams to complete multiple projects over the course of the semester-long internship program. The intern will have a manager that will provide direction, coaching and guidance to achieve goals. The intern will have tasks they need to do as a TechSmithie as well as specific tasks based on their assigned projects. Projects are expected to be delivered on time by the end of the semester. Projects may include (but are not limited to) research, data analysis, process testing, measurement and process improvement with an overarching goal to increase our revenue.
Responsibilities:

- Information Mining
- Data and Business Analysis
- Testing Processes and creating a proof of concept
- Creating documentation
- System and Process Improvement
- Additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of all MS Office programs, Data Analysis tools are a plus
- Good organization skills and capability to multi-task
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and think critically
- Strong communication skills
- Experience doing quantitative analysis in a previous role or in school
- Dependable employee with at least 6 months of work experience
- Pursuing a degree in economics, finance, data analysis, research, computer science, math or similar field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be enrolled for at least 6 credits (undergrad) or 3 credits (grad) for fall and/or spring semesters to be considered for an internship with TechSmith Corporation
- Must be able to work 12-18 hours per week for fall semester 2026. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm Eastern
- Must be willing and able to work 20% of time in office on Wednesdays (East Lansing, MI)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Excel Pivot tables, Power Query, R, Python or SQL
- Experience with MS PowerBI or MS Dynamics (or another CRM tool)
- Experience working in an office environment
